Life in Juneau - Week 4
Well here we are at Week 4! I have been in Juneau for a month now and what an amazing month it has been! I have learned much about the area, though I still have a lot more to learn. We had a major snow to begin the week which was quite interesting to experience out and about. It started the day snowing and by around 10 a.m. it had.accumulated quite a bit. When I left work at 3:30 p.m., it was hard to get out of the parking lot. They do a great job of keeping the highway in a drivable condition. I also learned that the snow is piled up in the middle turn lanes of the road. It makes sense. In populated areas, there really isn’t a good place to put piles of snow when you need to clear it out quickly. I also noticed that the State snow plows, here in Juneau, have a big blade on the front of the trucks and also have a smaller blade in the middle of the trucks. It is one of my missions to find out more about that additional blade on the snow plow. I had my Thanksgiving meal at a local church that put together a Thanksgiving potluck for those unable to visit family or have family visit them here. It was quite the event with plenty of good food.
Glad you are enjoying the area. No snow here, just fair weather, but no rain. Only had a couple days of colder temps. Thanks for including us in your grand adventure.
Love that video. So glad you are fitting in there.
